The CHE Advising team uses a holistic, all-encompassing approach to support students'
success at UNC. We seek to provide intentional contact with all students with the
goal of developing a caring and beneficial relationship. CHE provides assistance in
the areas of academics, financial aid, residence life, personal well being, and in
the career-decision process.
The CHE program prioritizes the first year of a student’s experience, as this is a
year filled with lots of opportunities and challenges. All CHE students begin their
first year by attending the summer bridge CHE Connections orientation program which
provides opportunities for CHE participants to develop relationships with their peers,
staff and peer advisors. Additionally freshmen and sophomore students work closely
with their assigned CHE Peer Advisor to prepare them for college expectations. The
junior and senior CHE students are assign to a full-time academic advisor who meets
with them two or more times each semester.
"Excellence can be obtained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible." ~ Unknown
