Harrison Hall is recommended for first year students.

Harrison Hall

The Basin Neighborhood

Providing a home away from home to the majority of UNC's first-year students, Harrison Hall is one of the largest UNC communities, with five floors and 540+ fellow students. Bears can experience supportive connections within two Residential Learning Communities at Harrison Hall: Pre-Nursing RC and Outdoor Pursuits RC. The proximity of the Gear Shop provides convenient access to equipment check out for a Bear’s next Outdoor Pursuits adventure.

Harrison Hall was built on West Campus in 1966. Bears enjoy the cozy convenience of updated community-style-deluxe rooms with semi-private jack-and-jill bathrooms and easy access to The Campus Recreation Center, Michener Library, Holmes Dining Hall and West Campus academic buildings. Students residing in Harrison Hall are not required to move to temporary housing during academic breaks; they can apply to stay in their units during the winter and spring breaks.
