John is in his sixth semester with Housing and Residential Education at UNC. Beginning his housing career as an RA in the pandemic-ridden winter of 2021, he has strived to connect with residents in any way possible to create thriving and inclusive communities. John is honored to continue taking his experience and applying it in the ANC position to assure RAs are set up for success in every facet of their jobs and nobody has to feel like they have to learn their positions on their own. He is especially passionate about student staff training, conduct and policy enforcement, crisis response and staff/residential connection.

Outside of HRE, John is completing a degree in Music Education (K-12 Vocal and Piano Teaching Licensure) and maintains a busy performance and teaching schedule. John's voice has been heard around the country as an intern with the Colorado Bach Ensemble, an intern at Grace and Stephen's Episcopal Church, a choral scholar at Greeley First Congregational United Church of Christ, a chorus member at Opera Colorado, an undergraduate voice scholar at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music's highly acclaimed Baroque Performance Institute, a singer at Seicento Baroque Ensemble and a singer at America the Beautiful Men's Chorus. The opera stage has most recently seen John as Ernesto/Hesparus (Il Mondo della Luna, Franz Joseph Haydn) and Corydon (Acis and Galatea, G.F. Handel). The concert stage has most recently heard John as a soloist in Fauré's Requiem in D minor, Op. 48, Bach's Ich habe Genug (BWV 82), Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzer and Ariel Ramírez's Misa Criolla.
