Auditing a Class

Auditing a course can be a great option when there’s a subject you’re interested in but either have a full course load or want to test the waters before jumping in to a new major or minor. Without the requirement to perform to a certain grade level, auditing takes the pressure off intensive but interesting subjects like psychology, physics, or even law.

When you audit a course, there’s no need to complete assignments or exams, though you are expected to attend class. If you do not attend class you may be removed from the roster. Once you successfully complete the class, you will be given a grade of "NC" (no credit). Tuition and fees are charged for an audited course according to its credit hour value. Audited courses are not eligible for the COF stipend.

If you’re registered for a course that you would instead like to audit, you must contact the Registrar's Office before the add deadline to change your registration status to audit. After the add deadline has passed, you may not change the status for any course, including audit courses.
