Course Add Procedure
Students may add courses using Ursa through the 5th day of the semester for full semester courses. For courses not meeting the full semester dates, see Special term and Short Courses deadlines.
During days 6 through 10, the student may have you sign the Course Late Add Request Form. By signing the form you are agreeing to any course overrides the student might need (pre-requisite/capacity/restrictions) except for a Time Conflict. The Time Conflict override requires separate initials. This form is available on the Office of the Registrar website only during days 6-10. Once the form is received, the Office of the Registrar will register the student. This form must be received in our office no later than 5:00 pm on day 10.
After day 10, the Petition to Late Add a Course form must be completed. In order to submit an appeal:
- The student must have been attending on or before the drop deadline of the course
- The student must include a written statement describing the circumstances that kept them from adhering to the deadline. Petitions submitted without a reason/statement will be denied.
This form MUST include all signatures and a student start date to be considered.

Course Drop Procedure
Students may drop courses using Ursa through the 10th day of the semester for full semester courses. For courses not meeting the full semester deadlines, see Special Term and Short Courses deadlines. Students may find their course add/drop/withdrawal deadlines on the student tab of their Ursa by clicking 'Your Course Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines.'

Course Withdrawal Procedure
Individual Course Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from individual courses through the withdrawal deadline of the course. Students may find their course add/drop/withdrawal deadlines on the student tab of their Ursa by clicking 'Your Course Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines.' If a student has a hold on their account preventing them from withdrawing from a course, they can contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance.Full Schedule Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from their complete schedule through the withdrawal deadlines of their courses. Students may find their course add/drop/withdrawal deadlines on the student tab of their Ursa by clicking 'Your Course Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines. Students must contact the Office of the Registrar to complete a full schedule withdrawal.Staff and faculty can view the Special Term and Short Course deadlines for withdraw deadlines for courses not scheduled for the full term.

Overrides
As an instructor, you may give permission for students to enter a closed or restricted course by releasing the student using the Faculty Self Service in Ursa. Click here for detailed instructions.
The following override types may be used:
CAPACITY - Override Capacity - this releases a student if the course is closed, but does not override any other restrictions.
ICEXCAP - Inst Consent Excluding Capacity - this releases a student for all restrictions, except the course capacity and time conflict.
INSTCONS - Inst Consent Including Capacity- this releases a student for ALL restrictions, except time conflict.
TMCONFLICT - Course Time Conflict - this releases a student to register in a course which has a time conflict with another course on their schedule
MUTEXC - Mutually Exclusive Courses – Overrides a mutually exclusive restrictionMake sure the student understands that they will still have to complete the registration process on Ursa.
- They will need to go to the Student Tab of their Ursa Account and choose Register, Add or Drop Classes.
- They need to enter the CRN number directly into the worksheet and not search for the course as it will still show closed even though they have been released.

PIN Information
Students require a new alternate PIN each Fall and Spring semester with the exception of graduate students and Nursing majors.
You may obtain a list of advisee PIN numbers using two methods:
- INSIGHT Production - Academic View, Advising Tab, ACD029
- Ursa Employee Tab - Faculty & Advisor Tools - Classes - Advisee Listing
- Must be assigned in Banner as the student's advisor
You may obtain a single PIN number from:
