Step 2: Setting up a EDSE 999 shell in LiveText

In the past, artifacts associated with courses and/or other sources were either stored as electronic documents by the student on memory sticks and/or personal hard drives, or they were uploaded at individual course sites within LiveText (EDSE 618, etc.). Then, near the end of a student’s program, these course projects, their respective rubrics, and other documents were downloaded from individual course sites or personal storage systems, and subsequently uploaded by the student into a LiveText course shell called EDSE 999. This meant that a student typically set up his/her EDSE 999 shell at the time he/she completed his/her MA Generalist Program comprehensive examination.

We have now made the process more efficient. Each student sets up his/her EDSE 999 shell at the beginning of their Master’s program, or as soon after their program start as they can.  All artifacts associated with courses are now directly uploaded into this shell as a student goes through his/her program. Artifact grading for a course, and ratings for the comprehensive examination, are handled simultaneously and directly in the EDSE 999 shell within LiveText.

To set up your EDSE 999 shell, send an email to the MA Generalist Program Coordinator that contains the following information:

Your full name
Your bear number
Your email address

The program coordinator will then submit this information to IT, who will set up the account for you. Presently, the program coordinator is Dr. Francie Murry: francie.murry@unco.edu

Reviewing a Graded Rubric
