Comparable Coverage

To be considered comparable coverage, your insurance policy must be in effect by the waiver deadline for the current semester and it must meet one of these criteria:

• Be a company sponsored plan through your employer, your spouse's employer, or parent's employer.
• Be coverage through the U.S. Government or a foreign Government.
• Coverage through an individual plan that meets all Affordable Care Act requirements.

If you participate in a Health Care Sharing Ministry program approved by the Federal Health and Human Services Division, contact the Insurance office at 970-351-1915 or email Nicky.weglin@unco.edu for further instructions on waiving the UNC plan.
