The Campus Recreation Center on West Campus serves more than 250,000 student and faculty/staff visits annually.
More than 10,000 square feet of strength and conditioning spaces, featuring weight machines, free weights, treadmills, steppers, ellipticals, upright and recumbent bikes, an upper-body cycle, and rowing machines.
Enroll in mind and body, mixed format, cardio, strength and dance classes that include various yoga and meditation classes, spinning, cycle and core, kickboxing, power pump, PulsePointe Barre®, Hip Hop Jazz Fusion and Zumba®.
Three multi-purpose gymnasiums feature a total of five hardwood basketball courts.
Bring your running or walking workout inside with our 1/10th-mile banked track.
Make reservations at the front desk for one of two racquetball/wallyball courts.
With climbing heights of 31 feet, and more than 800 different handholds and eight belaying stations, UNC’s climbing wall is designed for all abilities. The campus rec center offers skills classes and staffs the area for safety, technical hints and belaying.
A 25-yard, six-lane lap swim pool with a diving well, Butler-Hancock is available for student use and accessible via the Campus Recreation Center.

Plan your next outdoor adventure with Campus Recreation. Trips offered each semester include whitewater rafting, camping, hiking, rock climbing, skiing and more.
Get to know other new students, student leaders, and staff or faculty before the first semester begins. A sample trip might include camping, rafting and horseback riding with an outdoor service project.
No matter your skill level, try out UNC’s climbing wall. And to deepen and test your skills, you’ll find annual climbing competitions, patron setting days and beginners' and ladies' climb nights.
Bear Athletics
Your student ID is your ticket to UNC athletics, and with 17 NCAA Division I teams to root for, you’ll have a lot of chances to wear your Bear pride.
Men’s Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Track and Field (Indoor and Outdoor) and Wrestling.
Women’s Sports: Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming and Diving, Track and Field (Indoor and Outdoor) and Volleyball.

Campus Arts
Take a seat in UNC’s theatre in the round, “Little Theatre of the Rockies,” and see student performers and guest artists in a theatrical production like you’ve never seen it before. Immerse yourself in three days of world-class jazz at the UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival. Enjoy public art installations and galleries that feed your imagination, and stop between classes to take in impromptu outdoor concerts. It’s no surprise that a university known for an outstanding performing and visual arts program would share talent and entertainment with the campus and regional community.
