Transfer Students
Research has shown that it is common for new Transfer Students to not feel as involved, included, or connected to the institution to which they’ve transferred to. This feeling of isolation or exclusion can sometimes lead to not having the best college experience one could have, had the new university provided support and events that are focused on making Transfer Students feel welcome and a part of the institution.
Soar’s Coordinator of Transfer, Transition, and Success does just that. He is here to meet with Transfer Students 1:1 or as a group to provide motivation, advising, Transfer Student events, campus connections, advocacy, financial aid consulting, mentorship, and tours of Greeley so that Transfer Students transition is as smooth as possible. Make an appointment with him today to learn more how you can have the best UNC college experience!
Academic Coaching
Academic coaching takes a holistic view of student support. During appointments, academic success coaches will check in on academic progress and see how classes are going.
Additionally, the Coordinator can help students get connected to support services on campus such as the Counseling
Center, the Disability Resource Center, Cultural and Resource Centers, and Tutoring.
In the spring semester, the coordinator will make sure that you are submitting your
FASFA for the upcoming school year. The coordinator in our office is a point of contact
for any issue or question a student may have.
Your Success Coach
You are expected to meet with your success coach regularly. At the beginning of the
semester, you will create an academic success plan with your success coach.
It is important that you check your BearMail once a day to make sure you are receiving
important information from our office as well as other areas within UNC.
