I am a proud Colorado native and a third-generation Mexican American. As a first-generation college student, I earned a certificate in Audio Mixing and an Associate of Arts from Aims Community College. Afterwards I transferred to UNC and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mexican American Studies and Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership at Northern Colorado.
Professionally I have worked in student support and served students for almost fifteen years. Working at UNC for only two weeks, however, spending about five years earning my degrees – it feels like home already!
I value spirituality, family, education, loyalty, and hard work. Additionally, I am passionate about serving others and teaching. It is a top priority for me personally and professionally to give back to my community by helping others navigate the college-going process. It gives me great joy to see others succeed! Another passion of mine is Music. Anything that is music related, whether it’s performing, teaching, composing, rehearsing, dancing, or listening to – music is the rhythm of life!
I am thrilled to be a part of the Soar Team and serving in this newly created position at UNC! Go Bears!!
