PSI Project: An OSEP Grant
Kouston Worthington, M.Ed. in Special Education, developed a deep passion for Deaf culture during her high school years, which sparked a lifelong commitment to the field. After earning her degree in interpreting from Tidewater Community College in 2015, Ms. Worthington recognized that her journey in education was just beginning. She saw the potential to make a greater impact by moving beyond the interpreter’s role, focusing on empowering her students to achieve lasting success. To further equip herself for this mission, Ms. Worthington pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University, followed by a Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Deaf and Hard of Hearing from Radford University.
A native of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Ms Worthington balances her dedication to teaching with a vibrant and fulfilling personal life. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys exploring new destinations, reading books, whipping up delicious treats, and seeking out exciting adventures!
