Priority 1: Foster Teaching and Holistic Programming to the Campus and Community
University Libraries foster relationships and collaborate with partners across campus and the wider Northern Colorado community. Through these collaborations, we will support creativity, teaching, learning, equity, inclusion, and scholarship to promote individual and group successes.
Goal 1: Building a comprehensive communication program
- Objective 1: Create strategies and systems for regular and consistent campus-wide communications (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 2: Review and update the usability and effectiveness of the Libraries website and research guides (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 3: Utilize diverse methods of communication to promote Libraries access, resources, and services to the surrounding community (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
- Objective 4: Cultivate a robust and engaging social media presence (this objective is COMPLETED)
- Objective 5: Create a brand identity, including a new logo (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
Goal 2: Re-envision the liaison model
- Objective 1: Create a Libraries task force to explore other models and recommend a structure that makes sense for UNC (this objective is COMPLETED)
- Objective 2: Establish relationships to reach under-served populations on campus through the Cultural Centers, student groups, and other avenues (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
Goal 3: Promote and expand resources for information literacy
- Objective 1: Develop a Canvas module aimed at information literacy skills for upper-division/graduate student audience (this objective is COMPLETED)
- Objective 2: Establish an internally-shared repository of librarian developed teaching materials (this objective is COMPLETED)
- Objective 3: Strengthen and promote programming for campus faculty regarding University Libraries resources for curricular, pedagogical, and research needs (implementation will begin in Fall 2023)
Goal 4: Establish a Libraries internship and practicum program
- Objective 1: Promote the field of librarianship to students as a career option (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 2: Expand internship opportunities to encourage UNC students interested in libraries or archives work (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
- Objective 3: Promote University Libraries as a practicum site for local/regional LIS students (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
Goal 5: Engage with the Northern Colorado community
- Objective 1: Assess existing partnerships and identify areas for growth (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
- Objective 2: Expand programming with High Plains Library District (HPLD) (implementation is ON HOLD until the new University Libraries dean is hired)
- Objective 3: Offer programs that are representative of cultures/nationalities that make up the UNC, Greeley/Evans communities and surrounding areas (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
Goal 6: Develop a culture of philanthropy
- Objective 1: Collaborate with University Advancement to develop a base of supporters in conjunction with a donor stewardship plan (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 2: Increase donor communications through our newsletter and regular updates (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 3: Create a clear and compelling case for supporting Libraries priorities and initiatives (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
- Objective 4: Clarify the role of the Friends of the Libraries in fundraising, program support, and community connection (this objective is IN PROGRESS)
