Summer Bridge Program
The LEAP Summer Bridge program is an opportunity for you to experience UNC before your first semester. This free program helps bridge the gap between high school and college by familiarizing you to campus so you're more comfortable and confident on your first day as a UNC Bear. The summer program will begin in late July 2024 with dorm move in. Over the next four days and three nights you will conduct a short research project exploring the impacts of chemicals on eye development in zebrafish. (Check out Dr. James’ website!). You will also engage in team building activities, meet your biology and chemistry instructors, take part in a photo scavenger hunt on campus, and get to know your peer mentors—who can answer questions about being at UNC and living in Greeley. You will also get to meet and establish relationships with other LEAP Scholars and your network of support—the LEAP co-directors and your LEAP advisors. The LEAP Summer Bridge ends with a poster sessions and dinner so you can share your experiences with your family and friends.
