Please note that our Doctoral Internship is on pause for the 2024-2025 year, and we anticipate that it will remain on pause for the 2025-2026 academic year. It remains APA-Accredited with an inactive status.
Welcome to our APA Accredited Doctoral Internship Program in Health Service Psychology at the UNC Counseling Center! We welcome and encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds.
This full-time, 2000-hour Doctoral Internship program is designed to provide a broad-based professional training experience in the range of activities carried out by psychologists in a university counseling center. This internship is designed for doctoral candidates who will have completed their practicum requirements and who are at the pre-doctoral level of training.
Accreditation Status
The Doctoral Internship program at the Counseling Center is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Our internship program was a recipient of one of the APA Board of Educational Affairs internship grants in January 2013. This generous grant permitted us to expand our internship to three slots.
