Education & Training

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ursinus College, a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania. I received my master’s degree in psychology from Colorado State University (CSU), and I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in the CSU Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program. As part of my graduate school experience at CSU, I have experience working at a community mental health center, a university counseling center, and a career center.

Current Roles

As an advanced practicum student trainee at the counseling center here at UNC, I provide individual psychotherapy and co-facilitate group psychotherapy. I operate in my clinical roles under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.

Therapeutic Approaches

I take an integrative approach to therapy. I primarily base my understanding of client’s experiences through existential and humanistic frameworks, while I often employ interventions drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I take a person-centered approach to counseling in which the client’s experience is prioritized, and I seek to provide a collaborative, inclusive, and safe space to aid clients in progress toward their goals. I believe that a therapeutic alliance built on a foundation of empathy, nonjudgment, and cultural humility is essential for highly effective therapy.

About Me

I am originally from Long Island, New York, and I have also lived in South Florida, Pennsylvania, and now Colorado. I am an avid reader, especially when it comes to science fiction and fantasy novels. I am also a huge sports fan and continue to cheer on my often-hapless favorite teams from New York, the Jets and the Mets. I was a college tennis player when I was an undergraduate student, and I still seek to play when I can. I also enjoy spending time with my very needy kitten named Sox.
