Master of Arts in Teaching Physical Education and Physical Activity Leadership
This master's degree is one of the first in the nation to prepare educators to assume
the new role of physical activity leader within their school. The program is offered
primarily online, with just one two-week visit to UNC in the summer, making it convenient
for working educators.
In addition to advanced knowledge in physical education, students will learn how to
design and implement comprehensive school physical activity programs (CSPAP) that:
- Promote school-wide physical activity and prevent obesity
- Incorporate physical activity opportunities before, during and after school
- Increase staff, family and community involvement
