The National Association for Gifted Children announced the University of Northern Colorado’s Summer Enrichment Program as one of two Global Awareness Annemarie Roeper Award winners. UNC was recognized during the NAGC’s annual convention Nov. 9-12 in Charlotte, N.C.

The award recognizes individuals and groups that advocate for gifted children in ways that align with the late pioneer in the field, Annemarie Roeper.

UNC’s Summer Enrichment Program, or SEP, is a two-week educational program for students in grades five through 10. Founded by George Betts in 1978, the program celebrated its 40th year this past summer. UNC faculty Jennifer Ritchotte and Amy Graefe co-direct the program. Graefe and former director Stuart Omdal were in Charlotte to accept the award.
