Coronavirus Update: UNC Moves Online Classes to End of Semester, Campuses Close March 17

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNC President Andy Feinstein announced Monday that university courses will be delivered online for the remainder of the semester following spring break. UNC campuses also will close to everyone but essential personnel beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
 
With new guidance coming from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State of Colorado, Feinstein also announced the university will:

  • Cancel all in-person events and meetings for the remainder of the spring semester
  • Cancel spring graduation ceremonies (alternate plans are in the works)
  • Recommend students who are able to live off campus after spring break
