UNC to Celebrate Homecoming Oct. 1-6 with Variety of Events

The University of Northern Colorado will celebrate Homecoming Oct. 1-21 with a variety of events for alumni, students and residents.
Public Events
Homecoming 5K - Saturday, Oct. 6
Check-In: 7:30 a.m.; Race: 8:30 a.m.
Campus Rec Center
Join UNC Campus Recreation as they kick off Homecoming Game Day with the Annual UNC
Homecoming 5K Fun Run & Walk! Registration is $20. UNC Students, Faculty & Staff can
sign up using this link - Sign up for the Homecoming 5K.
Area community members can sign up at the UNC Rec Center front desk or by contacting
TaJuan Bell at: TaJuan.Bell@unco.edu or 970-351-4252.
Registration Fees for all registrations will be $20, paid at the Rec Center front
desk during normal business hours or day of the race (cash, check or credit card).
Pepsi UNC Bears Fan Fest & Tailgate - Saturday, Oct. 6
Bears Fan Fest tailgating from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Y lot, north of Nottingham Field,
will include free live music, games, giveaways, student groups' Spirit Boards and
more. Bears fans of all ages are welcome to join the fun, hosted by the UNC Alumni
Association. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Football Game - Saturday, Oct. 6
The traditional Saturday Homecoming football game this year pits the Bears against
the UC Davis Aggies at 12:00 p.m. at Nottingham Field. For ticket information, call
351-4849 or go to the UNC Ticket Office website.
Bonfire and Pep Rally - Friday, Oct. 5
Students and community members are invited to gather in Bishop-Lehr field at 8:00
p.m. for a pep rally complete with a bonfire, fireworks, cheerleaders and the Pride
of the Rockies Marching Band. Free and open to the public.
Reunion
The class of 1968, will return to campus for a weekend full of activities.

Student Spirit Week Events
Students will compete for the coveted Spirit Trophy by accumulating points in several
competitions available during Spirit Week. Events include:
- Open Mic Night: 8 p.m. Monday, Oct, 1; UC Ballrooms.
- Can Sculpture to Benefit Weld Food Bank: 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2; McKee Hall Breezeway
- Bingo Night sponsored by CPE: 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3; University Center Ballrooms
- Bear Sync: 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4; UC Ballrooms
- Inflatable Dance Party: 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6; West Campus Fields, south of Nottingham Field
