Tebben Named Inaugural Allen McConnell Endowed Chair in Accounting

Shawn Tebben is the inaugural Allen McConnell Endowed Chair in Accounting for the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business and will join the Accounting faculty this fall. Her 10-year life goal to teach college realized, Tebben kicks off her time at UNC with gratitude to professor Allen McConnell and UNC’s generous donors to the Allen McConnell Endowed Chair.

I am both honored and humbled to join the faculty in the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business as the first Allen McConnell Chair in Accounting. I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the amazing generosity of UNC donors in helping to establish this endowed position.

I’m excited to bring 30+ years of accounting, auditing and risk management experience into the classroom in a way that helps our students connect theory and concepts to the real world and become life-long learners as they discover the world of accounting and auditing.

I look forward to working with Dean Bobrowski, Accounting Chair Pat Seaton, Professor McConnell and the rest of the accounting faculty to bring our College to the next level and help shape what’s already great into something greater by leveraging our diverse experiences.

Through this professorship, I’m looking forward to expanding and deepening relationships with leaders in the business community, including public accounting firms, accounting and audit consulting firms, Colorado-based businesses, UNC alumni and other professional organizations to ensure UNC accounting students have the best opportunities to launch successful, rewarding and impactful careers.

Over the coming months, I look forward to meeting many of our UNC community members in person. In the meantime, please know I will do my level best to make the most of this generous investment.

With sincere gratitude and shared passion,
