
The host of an NPR program will moderate a panel discussion on Colorado's oil and gas development as part of an event called "1A Across America." The event gets underway at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the University Center. Moderator Josh Johnson, host of NPR's 1A, will explore with the panel how Colorado can balance growth in the industry with the health and safety of residents. "1A Across America" aims to bring local and regional issues into the national conversation "to rectify gaps in national" coverage. Producers identified six public media stations with strong ties to their local communities to bring underreported issues and concerns to a national audience. In addition to Greeley, other host sites are in Birmingham, Ala.; Flint, Mich; Houston; Wichita, Kan.; and Minnesota.
