Vanessa Avila is a Special Education major in her senior year at UNC. Her ability to attain a college degree was made possible because of UNC’s generous donors. Vanessa received the completely donor-funded Walter S. Rosenberry III Cumbres Scholarship, which helped reduce the financial barrier for her to attend UNC.

Without donor assistance, Vanessa’s story would look very different.
