McNair scholars have been working hard all summer to prepare for the GRE and their graduate school applications, however, they've also had the chance to relax and have some fun! This summer our scholars had the opportunity to engage in various program sponsored activities and events. In early June, students created Colorado inspired paintings under the trees in front of Michener Library with the expert guidance of Work of Art Greeley. Later in June, students had the chance to enjoy dinner and a show at Shrek the Musical hosted by the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Johnstown. More recently, the students ventured down south to explore The Denver Museum of Nature & Science where they attended the Stonehenge exhibit and enjoyed the short film Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity at the planetarium. And last but not least, our scholars channeled their inner rancher through riding horses at the beautiful Sylvan Dale Ranch just outside of Loveland. Striking a balance between school work, self-care, and trying new things is never easy but it is an essential part of being a successful scholar!
