Eligibility Criteria

• Second- or third-year students with a minimum of 60 credits completed by the end of the academic year and at least one more year of undergraduate enrollment.
• 2.75 or higher cumulative GPA
• American citizen or US permanent resident
• Strong interest in completing a graduate degree
• First generation college student AND income eligible
  -- OR --
  Member of a population underrepresented at the graduate level (American Indian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Alaskan, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander)

To apply, download the application and optional recommendation forms (or come by our office to pick up a hard copy), complete all sections, and email to the McNair Participation is contingent upon continued funding of the McNair Scholars Research Program at UNC. Due to regulations governing federal money this program receives this form includes questions that are personal but must be answered to determine program eligibility and services. All information will be held in strict confidence.Research Program at mcnair.scholars@unco.edu. In order to view this document, you need the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Priority deadline 5 pm February 17^th, 2025. Later applications will be considered on a space-available basis.
