As President, Tony leads the UNC Foundation to ensure it appropriately receives, manages, and prudently invests private contributions and supports the University’s philanthropic efforts through effective donor stewardship. He works with the Foundation’s Board of Directors to ensure fiduciary obligations are met and collaborates with university leadership and others to support related strategic efforts.
Tony graduated from Indiana University and began his career as a CPA. His experience before joining the UNC Foundation in September 2022 includes serving in business management roles, including as a Chief Financial Officer in the private sector and for a national healthcare-related nonprofit. He also worked with Children’s Hospital Colorado’s health system for 15 years where he managed a large endowment investment portfolio and worked closely with hospital and foundation and leaders to support strategic growth initiatives.
As a first-generation college graduate, I appreciate how that educational experience impacted my life. I am fortunate to be able to spend my time collaborating with amazing people who share a common goal of giving back to help provide the opportunity for a transformative college experience for others.
UNC is unique, and at a pivotal stage in its history. Opportunities such as the new College of Osteopathic Medicine, articulated in the university’s strategic plan, Rowing Not Drifting 2030 will be truly transformative. It is an exciting time for the university, our community and current and future UNC Bears!
In addition to his work, Tony enjoys attending UNC sports and other events, traveling, biking, the outdoors and spending time with family.
