Heating Plant
Production of high temperature hot water for campus heating and cooling systems.
Boilers 1, 2 & 3 Boilers are used to create High Temperature Hot Water this in turn can produce heat to campus and also cooling via absorption chillers. The heat plant uses three separate boilers, each producing 60,000,000 Btus. Boilers keep water temp at 350 degrees.
Expansion Tank is used to protect the closed water heating system from excessive pressure. It is partially filled with nitrogen to absorb excess water pressure caused by thermal expansion.
Motor Control Center- Motor Control Center is designed to serve as the power distribution in the heat plant. It serves to protect against system overloads.
