On Being a Bear

Lyndsey joined the team in September 2014 and has nearly two decades of experience in university advancement. But years before she assumed her current role, Lyndsey first fell in love with UNC as a high school sophomore from Mililani, HI. After meeting a UNC admissions counselor, Lyndsey set her sights on Greeley and made plans to become a Bear. With support from the Western Undergraduate Exchange program and UNC scholarships, Lyndsey moved more than 3,000 miles from home to begin her freshman year as a UNC political science major. It has been hard to keep her away ever since.

As UNC's assistance vice president for alumni and community relations, Lyndsey's goal is to ensure that UNC alumni remain actively engaged in the life of their university and invested in the education of current and future Bears. Foremost, Lyndsey is a point of contact for UNC's alumni. She ensures that alumni and students have access to Alumni Association services and support, including growing the professionally-oriented UNC Bear Network and providing alumni career support long after graduation. Lyndsey is responsible for developing UNC's alumni communication strategy, enhancing UNC's involvement in community initiatives, serves as co-editor of UNC Magazine, directs engagement staff and budgets, and develops alumni programs and volunteer initiatives across campus. She works with university faculty and staff to ensure that alumni are meaningfully involved in advancing UNC's brand and enrollment, student and career success, and philanthropic priorities.

Lyndsey serves as UNC's representative on the Visit Greeley Board and is a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Weld County Board of Directors. Additionally, as an established leader in higher education, she was selected to receive a prestigious Fulbright Scholar award in 2022.

You can follow Lyndsey and build your Bear Network when you connect with her on LinkedIn.

I am a proud alumna and UNC will always hold a special place in my heart. As a first generation student and scholarship recipient, UNC provided me access to an incredible education. It is my privilege to pay that forward with my involvement as a donor, volunteer and staff member.

Once a Bear, Always a Bear!
