Professional/Academic Experience

Katelyn grew up in a military family and has lived in several places across the country. She was born in Texas, and has lived in Kentucky, South Carolina, and colorful Colorado, which she calls home. She moved to Greeley, Colorado in 2019 to pursue a bachelor’s degree. During her time as an undergraduate student at UNC, she was a part of the McNair Scholars program where she completed an independent undergraduate research project. She also worked as an intern at a local counseling center where she gained invaluable insight into the profession that inspired her to go to graduate school. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in nutrition. She is now pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental health Counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

As the graduate assistant of Veterans Services, she provides support to the military affiliated students working in the cottage and across campus, assists with event planning, supervises the social media team, implements the annual Veterans Day 5K, and helps maintain effective communication between Veterans Services and the rest of the UNC community.
