Flipping Out
Former UNC wrestler and current mixed martial arts champion Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje returned to campus and defeated his opponent in less than two minutes during a World Series of Fighting title match March 12 in the Bank of Colorado Arena at Butler-Hancock Athletic Center. The Colorado State Boxing Commission suspended Gaethje, who now has a 16-0 professional record, for his signature post-victory backflip off of the cage fencing, which the commission considers dangerous. The fighter was later reinstated.
