Biography

Oliver De La Cruz is a Success Coach and Academic Advisor for the Soar office at UNC who has been working full-time in this position since 2019. Oliver works with students who are declared as Exploring Liberal Arts and assists with building schedules, narrowing down majors, support with academic challenges and connecting students to additional resources on campus.  
Oliver started at Aims Community College and earned an Associates of Applied Science in Audio Production and transferred to UNC for both his undergraduate and graduate studies to earn a bachelor’s in journalism and a master’s in communication. He is continuing his studies and working toward a second master’s in theology and doctorate in theology at an online institution.  
During his time off, Oliver is very active in his church, enjoys listening to music all day, watching anime, collecting figures, and mobile gaming.
