Tony is the graduate assistant for Soar and facilitates outreach and programming for Soar’s Peer Mentor Program. The program serves First Generation, Bears First, Independent Youth, and Exploring students, and Tony collaborates with Success Coaches and peer mentors in the Division of Student Academic Success to promote a system of outreach and support for these populations. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Jazz Studies here at UNC, with a focus on drum set performance. Tony received his BA in Jazz Performance from Whitworth University in May of 2023. He loves sharing music with others, and enjoys hiking, climbing, and backpacking.
