Communication MA
UNC's Master of Arts in Communication is unique in that it equally emphasizes both communication and rhetorical theory and focuses on how to apply these theories to your career.
In UNC’s Communication master’s program you’ll develop advanced written and verbal communication skills that will set you apart in the job market and help advance your career. The program explores all forms of communication—in organizations, relationships and across cultures—and emphasizes experiential learning through internships and other hands-on opportunities in the local community and beyond. You’ll also find a supportive, collaborative learning environment led by award-winning faculty who are dedicated mentors and noted researchers in diverse areas of communication.

When you earn your master’s degree in Communication at UNC, you’ll be ready to immediately apply a broad range of communication skills in the workplace, in your community and at home. Extensive internship and other field-based opportunities enable hands-on learning: our students apply their skills working with Denver-area businesses in customer service, event planning, public relations, training and more. Many other projects focus on community service, working with local schools, Boys and Girls Clubs and other community organizations.

Perspectives on Storytelling and Narratives
Dr. Thomas Endres, Communication
Dr. Thomas Endres recently delivered one of the keynote addresses at the Second Annual World Conference on Media and Mass Communication in Bangkok, Thailand. He shared personal stories of his growth as an educator and a media and communication scholar, as well as interviews and photographs of his photo-ethnographic book Sturgis Stories: Celebrating the People of the World’s Largest Motorcycle Rally. In sharing these stories, Dr. Endres hopes to encourage others to collect and listen to the stories of those around them, and to value and share those images and narratives in their personal and professional endeavors.
