As we approach the end of the year, I want to thank each of you for making UNC a wonderful place to work and learn. In recognition of all you do, I am writing to share that I am extending the winter break for all employees to include Monday, December 23.
Governor Polis recently announced a floating Governor’s Holiday to be used between December 24 and January 3. As part of the UNC Holiday Schedule published by Human Resources, I had previously authorized several President Admin Leave Days during this same window. As a result of the news from the Governor’s Office, we will observe the Governor’s Holiday on Monday, December 30, and I will move a President Admin Leave Day to the 23rd. The winter closure will now run from Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 1, and we will resume operations on January 2, 2025.
