Fellow Bears,
The financial well-being of our students continues to be of the utmost importance to me. As Colorado’s most affordable research institution, we must continue our mission to provide accessible, high-quality teaching, learning, research, and creative works. Today, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to keep tuition for the 2020-21 academic year flat. This decision is important given the effect an increase would have on our students and their families as they deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board also voted to slightly increase fees by $75 per semester to support the delivery of student services and additional technology needs. The tuition and fee schedule will be posted online in the coming days.
During the Board meeting, the Trustees also approved an interim operating budget for the 2020-21 fiscal year that begins July 1. The interim budget assumes that in-person classes will be offered and that campus residence halls will be opened, as planned. In the fall, we will present to the Board a new proposed budget for review and approval – this new proposed budget will not affect tuition and fee rates.
