Fellow Bears,
As we get closer to the end of the fall semester, I am excited to update the campus community on the work to set a new vision for UNC. Next week, I will present to our Board of Trustees the draft vision created by our President’s Leadership Council, Rowing, Not Drifting 2030. I invite you to read the draft in advance of the November 15 Board of Trustees meeting.
Setting a vision for the decade ahead was a team effort requiring the involvement of our entire university community. Over 1,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends participated in the process. I want to sincerely thank everyone involved. It took a lot of lot of energy and thoughtful contributions to get where we are. This effort showcases what can be done when we row together.
Following the Board of Trustees review of Rowing, Not Drifting 2030, the President’s Leadership Council will shift its attention toward defining measurable goals that operationalize the plan by the end of the 2019-2020 academic year. A focus on actionable outcomes and institutional alignment at all levels of the organization will ensure that our vision remains a living document that guides UNC’s work to put students first.
Rowing, Not Drifting,
Andy Feinstein
President
