Fellow Bears,

I am writing to share with you that Cedric Howard, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, will be leaving UNC this summer. Cedric’s last day on campus is June 14.

Cedric joined the university community in November 2021 as vice president for Student Affairs. An experienced student affairs leader with nearly three decades of higher education experience, he quickly made an impact through his content and operational expertise and unwavering commitment to student success. In June 2022, I asked Cedric to assume leadership for enrollment management and established the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. A recognized leader in enrollment management, Cedric immediately brought his expertise to bear in leading UNC’s strategic enrollment planning efforts.

Cedric has decided to embark on a new chapter in his personal and professional journey. As he does, I want to recognize and celebrate the many contributions he has made to the betterment of our university community. Among the many accomplishments of Cedric and his team are significant enhancements to the University Center, a reimagined admissions process, a newly optimized financial aid strategy, and an expanded Bear Pantry, to name a few. As we bid farewell to Cedric, please join me in extending our gratitude for his dedication, passion, and commitment to the values and mission of UNC.

I will continue to keep the university community updated on next steps.

Sincerely,
  Andy Feinstein.
