Students Alexis Richmond and Curtis Crawford finished their field data collection on their independent research project at the Poudre Learning Center. They are characterizing the geomorphology and sediment regime toward a larger project that studies the geomorphology and water quality on the Cache la Poudre River. Alexis and Curtis would have presented at the NHS Student Research Celebration that was recently canceled because of safety concerns over Covid-19. Funding for their research has come from the Poudre Heritage AreaSmall Grants Program and the UNC Research, Dissemination and Faculty Development Program awarded to their research mentor, Dr. Sharon Bywater-Reyes.
