Professional/Academic Experience

A Colorado native, Wendi earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from UNC in 1994. She worked at Tolmar, a pharmaceutical company, for over 17 years where she held the position of Senior Director of Analytical Development. In this capacity, Wendi led her team in the development of over 25 pharmaceutical products and hundreds of analytical methods. Her contributions extended beyond research and development, as she also led the Quality Control department, overseeing a dedicated team of over 100 chemists and microbiologists over three shifts. In her time at Tolmar she employed dozens of UNC graduates.

In 2019, Wendi charted a new course in her career by venturing into the emerging cannabis industry. She joined a hemp extraction company, Mile High Labs, where she assumed the role of Vice President of Regulatory and Compliance. Her journey in this role took her across the globe as she tirelessly advocated for science-based legislation for the hemp industry. From speaking at the EU Parliament in Brussels to engaging with the Mexican Senate and regulators from U.S. agencies such as the FDA, USDA, and DEA, Wendi demonstrated her commitment to shaping the future of the hemp industry.

In 2020, Wendi Young left her impactful position at Mile High Labs to follow her entrepreneurial spirit. She founded Triverity Laboratories, a pioneering venture aimed at bridging the gap in the testing laboratory industry. Under her leadership, Triverity Laboratories applies the same rigorous standards and principles of a pharmaceutical laboratory to diverse sectors, offering unparalleled expertise in testing and analysis to customers around the globe.

Beyond her professional achievements, Wendi is deeply rooted in her community. A Greeley native, she resides in her hometown with her husband of 29 years, where they have raised two sons, one of whom recently graduated from UNC. Her commitment to her community extends to serving as a board member on the Greeley Citizen's Transportation Board since 2022.
