Carol Salter joined Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development in the newly formed position of Nursing Shortage Program Manager in March of 2022. This progressive role addresses the extreme need for increasing the nursing workforce in Northern Colorado. Carol is formerly the Director of Business Development for Banner Health ~Northern Colorado. She had been with Banner for 26 years, holding various roles including physician integration, contracts management and legislative liaison. She also held the role of Banner Notary Administrator for the entire Banner Health system.
Before her career at Banner, Carol managed a counseling office, worked in human resources and taught high school social studies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in History Education and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration.
Carol has been married to her husband, artist RM Salter for 35 years and they have one daughter, Gabrielle Brayton, a graphic designer. Carol and Rod are self-professed foodies and enjoy going to new restaurants. They also enjoy attending live sporting events. Carol is a student of her heritage and enjoys learning about the Danes, Scots and the Irish.
Carol enjoys running, reading, policy, writing articles and teaching health care notary classes at various national and state conferences. Carol’s favorite president is Calvin Coolidge. She has spent time as a volunteer, transcribing President Coolidge’s speeches into a digital format for his presidential library.
Carol is involved in various organizations such as the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance, the Northern Colorado Health Sector Partnership, Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, and the National Forum of Nursing Workforce Centers.
