Annette R. Martinez is a retired Senior Vice President for State Farm® Mutual Automobile Insurance Companies. Her role as Senior Vice President included companywide oversight of Human Resources & Development, Corporate Responsibility, Public Affairs, and Diversity & Inclusion. She had over 34 years of experience with State Farm.
Annette received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Northern Colorado. She earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1995, the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 1996, and the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) in 2010.
Annette was appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis to the Board of Trustees for the University of Northern Colorado in December 2021 and the Colorado 19th Judicial Nominating Commission in early 2022. She also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the Leadership Council for the Northern Colorado American Cancer Society. Annette previously served as a liaison on the Corporate Advisory Board for UnidosUS and as a board member for the Community Cancer Center Foundation. She is a Founding member of the Women’s Giving initiative (Women Empowered) for St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.
Annette has received several recognitions including the Black Enterprise Top Executive in Corporate Diversity in 2018, National Association of Female Executive’s 2018 Diversity Champion for Women, Worldwide Top 100 CHRO 2019, Insurance Business America’s Hot 100 in 2020, and awarded the National Diversity Council’s Power 50 Award for 2020 and 2021.
She lives in Windsor, Colorado with her husband, Ruben. They have one daughter, Andrea, a 2020 graduate of Harvard College
