Professional/Academic Experience

My name is Soledad Almanza, I am a third year here at UNC. I am from Olathe, Colorado, a small town located in the western slope. I am majoring in Audiology and Speech Language Sciences, and double minoring in psychology and special education. My academic goal is to get accepted into a graduate program to be able to become a Doctor of Audiology. Once I obtain this goal, I hope to be able to work at a private practice helping both adults and children or at a hospital doing newborn hearing screenings. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, and know the basics of American Sign Language. Knowing these three languages I hope to be able to connect more with my clients and be able to help them if they do not have an interpreter. I am proud to be a McNair Scholar!
