McNair Scholars Program
Monfort College of Business
My name is Chloe Parsons and I am a St. Louis, Missouri native. I moved to Northern Colorado to pursue my associates from Aims Community College and further transferred to the University of Northern Colorado. I am a first-generation student that is pursuing a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree, it is my academic goal to get accepted into a Ph.D. program in Economics. My professional goal is to one day be a Chief Economist or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a company. My biggest career goal is to be the CFO of a Fortune 500 company. Some of my proudest achievements are to be an All-USA Academic Scholar, a Coca-Cola Silver Scholar, Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholar, and recipient of the Dean and President’s Honor Roll list from December 2018 - May 2020. My biggest accomplishment, however, is being accepted into the Ronald E. McNair Scholar Program. I know this program will help me excel and get into the graduate school that is right for me and provide me with a stellar opportunity to conduct research that impacts me and my community. Furthermore, I am often reminded of this quote from Elon Musk, “when something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor”. Even though it will not be easy, McNair will be here for me.
