Descriptive Guide to Michener Library First Floor

Locations on the first floor of Michener Library are listed below, starting from the lobby and main entrance doors. The list starts with the locations nearest the doors, first to the left of the doors, then to the right.

On the Left

• Administrative Offices

  On the left.

• Main Circulation Desk

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs, then turn left. The desk is just ahead.

• Video Phone

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs, then turn left. At the main circulation desk, turn right. Proceed straight, past a hallway. The video phone is on the left.

• Mari Michener Gallery

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs, then turn left. At the main circulation desk, turn right. Proceed straight, past a hallway and the video phone. The gallery area is ahead on the left.

• Elevator

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs. Turn slightly to the left to bypass tables and chairs. Past the tables and chairs, turn right down the hallway. The elevator is on the left.

• Water Fountain

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs. Turn slightly to the left to bypass tables and chairs, then continue straight. Pass the hallway to the elevator on the right. The water fountain is on the right, just past the hallway.

• Restroom

  Proceed straight toward an open area with tables and chairs. Turn slightly to the left to bypass tables and chairs, then continue straight. Pass the hallway to the elevator on the right, then pass the water fountain. Continue straight to the restroom door, on the right. This is a one-person, gender-neutral bathroom.

On the Right

• Coffee Cart

  On the right, just inside the entrance.

• Stairs

  Stairs leading down are ahead and slightly to the right of the entrance. Stairs leading up are ahead and to the right of the entrance, past the stairs leading down.

• Current Reading Area

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs on the left. The current reading area is on the left.

• Elevator

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs on the left. Turn left just past the tables and chairs, then continue straight. On the left is a hallway. Turn left down the hallway. The elevator is on the right.

• Service Desk, Printers, Scanner

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs and the current reading area on the left. The service desk is directly ahead. The printers and scanners are behind the service desk.

• Computers

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight ahead to the service desk. Computers are on the right and the left of the service desk.

• Tech Den

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight ahead to the service desk. Turn right at the service desk. Pass the computers and turn left. The Tech Den is just ahead on the right.

• Office 115

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight ahead toward the service desk. Turn right at the service desk. Pass the computers and turn left. Continue straight past the Tech Den on the right. Office 115 is on the right.

• Office 116

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight ahead toward the service desk. Turn right at the service desk. Pass the computers and turn left. Continue straight past the Tech Den and office 115 on the right. Office 116 is on the right.

• Adaptive Technology Room (117L)

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs on the left. Turn left just past the tables and chairs, then continue straight. Pass the hallway to the elevator on the left. At the corner, turn left, then left again. The adaptive technology room is on the left.

• Offices 112 and 147

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs on the left. Turn left just past the tables and chairs, then continue straight. Pass the hallway to the elevator, then office 117, on the left. Continue straight toward the back wall of the library. For office 112, turn left, then continue straight. Office 112 is on the right. For office 147, turn left, then continue straight past office 112. Office 147 is on the right.

• Offices 108-111

  Just inside the entrance is the coffee cart, on the right. Turn right just past the coffee cart. Proceed straight, past an area with tables and chairs on the left. Turn left just past the tables and chairs, then continue straight. Pass the hallway to the elevator, then office 117, on the left. Continue straight toward the back wall of the library. Turn right, then continue straight. Office 111 is the closest, on the left. Continue straight past office 111 to reach offices 110, 109, and 108 (on the left, in that order).
