VDI Horizon (VMware)
You will need to submit a request to the Technical Support Center to update your account
and gain access to this virtual software before proceeding with the steps below. To
do this login to the portal and in the keyword search enter "horizon" and you will see the option on the left.
- VDI Horizon for Windows
- Open Internet Explorer and go to http://remotepc.unco.edu.
- Click the Install VMware Horizon Client option.
- Under "VMware Horizon Client for Windows", click the Go to Downloads link on the right
side of the page.
- On the following page, click the Download button to obtain the installation file.
- When prompted by the yellow banner at the bottom of the page, click the Run button.
- Once the setup window appears, make sure to choose the Customize option, then click
the I Agree & Continue button.
- Choose IPv4, then click the Next button.
- Use the default location and installation options on this page, and click the Next
button.
- Enter "remotepc.unco.edu" as the Default Horizon Connection Server, then click the
Next button.
- Leave the default setting to Show in Options menu, then click the Next button.
- Choose where you would like to create shortcuts to the VMware program, then click
the Next button.
- Click the Install button.
- Wait for the installation to complete, then click the Finish button.
- You will be prompted to restart your computer. Click "Yes" to restart immediately
or "No" to manually do this later.
- VDI Horizon for Mac
- Open Safari and go to http://remotepc.unco.edu.
- Click the Install VMware Horizon Client option.
- Under "VMware Horizon Client for Mac", click the Go to Downloads link on the right
side of the page.
- On the following page, click the Download button to obtain the installation file.
- Open the Downloads folder and click the VMware file that was just downloaded.
- Click Agree to accept the end user license agreement when prompted
- Drag the VMware Horizon Client icon to the Applications folder icon.
