As a part of our series on the new UC dining options, Bear News staff shone the spotlight on Crisol Latin Kitchen.

Crisol is Spanish for ‘melting pot’ which reflects the variety of the menu. While Mexican food is still king in much of Greeley, Crisol seeks to represent a bigger picture of Latin America. Crisol brings the variety of Latin America to the UNC community with foods like Brazilian beef, pupusas, yucca fries and different empanadas. Popular items include tacos which can be made with pork, chicken, fish, as well as beans and rice. For something sweet, they offer churros and spicy Aztec brownies.

Crisol Latin Kitchen opened up alongside Empire State Pizza and Bowlful at the beginning of this spring semester.

Ryan Virgil, retail operations manager, says that Crisol is going to soon begin offering limited time menu options.

“I’m going to be gathering recipes and ideas from anybody on campus that wants to contribute family recipes,” said Virgil.
