Bear Benefits: Alumni Career Panels
Assistance with career development at UNC doesn’t stop when you graduate – it’s a lifelong benefit that can provide guidance, advice and a professional network of more than 139,000 fellow alumni.
As a Bear, you have access to UNC’s alumni career panels, which give you an opportunity to gain insights and perspective on a wide range of topics and fields.
This week, in celebration of Monfort College of Business’s Career Week, we’re offering students and alumni opportunities to connect with alumni and employers during the “Women in Business” career panel tonight, February 14, via Zoom at 4 p.m. MST.
“Virtual career panels provide our students and alumni an opportunity to gain insight and build connections with alumni and friends from across the Bear Network,” says Lyndsey Crum, UNC’s assistant vice president for Alumni and Community Relations. “Our network includes professionals from across Colorado and beyond, representing various industries, identities and backgrounds. This network is a valuable addition to high quality education offered through UNC’s academic programs.”
Other panels offered this spring via Zoom include:
- LGBTQ+ Alumni Navigating the Workforce, February 23, 4 p.m.
- Alumni in Non-Profit Management, March 9, 4 p.m.
- Careers in Brewing Science, April 6, 4 p.m.
If you can’t attend a panel during its live presentation look for on-demand recordings on the Alumni Careers page. Recent panels include:
- Alumni of Color Working in Business
- Alumni Working in K-12 Education
- Alumni Working in Sustainability
- A/PASS Alumni in the Working World
- Careers in Comms, Marketing and Graphic Design
For alumni looking for new career opportunities, UNC’s Center for Career Readiness will host the annual Spring Job, Internship and Graduate School Fair on Thursday, March 2 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the University Center Ballrooms. Alumni are also encouraged to join the UNC Alumni Group on LinkedIn where alumni employers post and share open career opportunities with their companies.
Our alumni love to give back and connect with students, and career panels offer an opportunity to share professional expertise and work experience with fellow Bears. If you’d like to be part of a future panel, let us know!
