Today is a great day at UNC. Today, the UNC Board of Trustees officially hired Andrew “Andy” Feinstein, Ph.D. as our next president.
In an email to campus today, Andy shared his enthusiasm for joining the UNC community and his commitment to getting to know the people and strengths of our university.
“It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity for me and my family, and also very humbling. We are proud to be joining your family of Bears. I plan to start with lots of listening when I get to campus in July. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone on campus, learning more about UNC and understanding what’s important to you.”
Along with sharing this news, I am pleased to let you know that Andy is already working with our team to meet and speak with members of our alumni and donor community. He continues to show a genuine interest in getting to know UNC and the individuals who make our institution special.
At this point, you are probably wondering when you will meet our next president. I promise that you will.
Andy will begin his new role in July and we are working with him and other university leadership to plan his transition into the presidency. This includes planning alumni and donor communication, meetings, and events. Some opportunities may be in person, some virtually or remote. I know that Andy is committed to strengthening UNC’s relationship and engagement with you. I look forward to sharing opportunities with you once details are available.
Until then, please join me in welcoming Andy and his family to UNC. He and his wife Kerry, and their children Nicholas and Rachel, will move to Greeley this summer. We look forward to them joining our UNC and Northern Colorado community.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment and connection to UNC.
Warmly,
Allie Steg Haskett '03
Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations
