University Advancement

Building on the reputation of more than 130 years of academic excellence and community impact, University Advancement elevates the brand of UNC, engages external constituents, and develops the philanthropic strategies that support UNC priorities. 

Reporting to Vice President Allie Steg Haskett ’03, UNC’s advancement staff manage all facets of UNC’s external operation to include advancement operations, alumni and community relations, development, and marketing and communications.

The division works with UNC leadership as well as faculty and staff to effectively promote and market the university, strengthen and celebrate alumni career outcomes, and engage constituents and community partners in philanthropy, volunteerism, advocacy. The division is also responsible for the management of UNC's alumni constituent records which inform strategic relationship management and program assessment and accreditation. Additionally, the UNC Foundation, a separate legal entity, works closely with all of University Advancement and is integrated both physically and strategically in all facets of the advancement enterprise.

Celebrating the Class of Spring 2024

Earlier this month, the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) graduated more than 1,200 Bears from 46 Colorado counties, 45 states and 21 countries. A whopping 43% of graduates were the first in their families to graduate from college, making it the graduating class with the highest percentage of first-generation students, as well as the most diverse class, in the past five years. Building a Bear Legacy: The Antuna Family

When Kevin, ’95, and Amy, ’96, Antuna decided to attend UNC, all they knew was that they wanted to improve their lives. Now, Kevin and Amy’s children have both graduated from UNC and launched careers in their chosen fields. While the couple didn’t know they would be embarking on a journey that bettered their future children’s lives, they’re proud of all their UNC education has enabled them to do.
