June 9, 2023 — The University of Northern Colorado’s Board of Trustees held its final meeting of fiscal year (FY) 2023 on Friday, June 9. Among several items on a lengthy agenda, the board received an update on phase II of the university’s strategic plan Rowing, Not Drifting 2030, heard a summary report from the Presidential Evaluation Committee regarding a comprehensive review of UNC President Andy Feinstein and approved the university’s FY24 budget.
Grant Funds Tree Planting on Campus in Honor of Felled Silver Maple
May 5, 2023 — The grounds of the University of Northern Colorado received a welcome living, breathing facelift last week. As part of Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations this year, students, faculty and staff picked up shovels and got their hands dirty planting 122 new trees across the university’s 250-acre campus.
Spring 2023 Commencement Showcases Increasing Diversity Among UNC Graduates
April 28, 2023 — The University of Northern Colorado is hosting its spring commencement ceremonies May 5-6, inside the Bank of Colorado Arena. This year’s spring class includes approximately 1,272 undergraduate and graduate students. An additional 342 students are expected to complete their degree requirements this summer and can participate in the spring ceremonies.

Colorado’s Free Application Day Extended to Three Days
October 13, 2021 — There are a few changes to the fourth annual Colorado Free Application Day. This year, it has expanded to three days instead of just one starting on Tuesday, Oct. 19 through Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021. UNC Appoints Interim Provost for 2021-22 Academic Year
June 17, 2021 — University of Northern Colorado President Andy Feinstein announced on June 17 that Lisa Vollendorf, Ph.D., has been appointed as interim provost for the 2021-22 academic year. Vollendorf brings 26 years of higher education experience to UNC and has held numerous leadership roles, including provost, dean, department chair and Academic Senate chair. She will start her new role on July 1, 2021.

Ceremony Formally Introduces UNC’s 13th President
April 12, 2019 — A traditional ceremony April 12 officially welcomed Andy Feinstein as the 13th president of the 130-year-old institution.During the Presidential Investiture, Feinstein spoke in the new performance hall at the Campus Commons. The 600-member audience included UNC trustees, former UNC presidents, presidents and former presidents of colleges and universities across the country, and local and state officials.

April 11, 2019 — The University of Northern Colorado will hold the 129th spring commencement ceremonies Friday, May 3, at Bank of Colorado Arena in Butler-Hancock Athletic Center, and Saturday, May 4, at Nottingham Field, with about 1,600 expected graduates.
UNC Updates Tree Tours with New Additions, Markers
April 2, 2019 — New additions of tree species are being added to the self-guided campus tree tours at UNC. The updates include newly planted trees around the Campus Commons as well as European Larch trees planted in the Carter Hall north lawn.
