The Marketing and Communications team strives to elevate the University of Northern Colorado’s reputation and recognition locally, regionally and nationally. By utilizing our expertise in design, technology and creativity, we deliver campaigns that create lasting impact through strategic marketing and compelling storytelling.
Elevating the UNC Brand
We create, inspire and design marketing communications for external audiences that support the university’s strategic priorities. We do this by partnering with campus communicators, departments, colleges and divisions to develop consistent communications strategies that advance the university’s mission and goals. We offer consultation on marketing strategy and effective branding.
We are a talented group of experienced doers and fixers. We’re creators. Strategists. We tell stories—student stories, faculty stories, alumni stories, UNC’s story. On campus and beyond, across multiple platforms: digital, social media, print, photography, videos, media/PR and others.
We elevate the University of Northern Colorado’s reputation and recognition to be more relevant locally, regionally and nationally through strategic marketing and compelling storytelling across paid, earned, shared and owned media.

What We Do
The Marketing and Communications team strives to position UNC as the future of higher education in Colorado and beyond by telling the university’s most important stories of academic achievement, student success and impact through teaching, the arts and research as a public university.
We are responsible for managing and overseeing media relations, digital marketing and communications, social media, graphic design, writing/editing, videography, photography, crisis communications, marketing strategy, trademark/licensing, and brand management.
The team comprises marketing communications professionals with extensive experience across higher education and other industries. We oversee all of UNC’s major communications channels.
We also partner with campus communicators, units, and departments to advance the university’s mission by ensuring communications strategies and resources are aligned. We create, inspire and design marketing communications efforts for external audiences that support UNC’s strategic priorities and offer consultation and counsel on marketing strategy and effective use of branded communications.
